Frequently Asked Questions
What do you do?
We create physical products through industrial design. After understanding the function of the product and, even more importantly for us, the experience its use will provide, our team of designers defines the dimensions, shape, colors, materials, finishes and brand position - all illustrated by 2D and 3D drawings.
Do you design all kinds of products?
No, our specialty is designing specific products such as electronics, machines, tools, vehicles, accessories, medical products, utensils, bottles, packaging, user manuals, backpacks, totems, and lights etc.
What products have you not yet designed?
Shoes, clothes, kitchen utensils among many other things. However, it is important to emphasize that we love challenges and are always ready to learn from our customers.
Do you manufacture the products?
No. During the design process, we research and identify suppliers to manufacture the product. Together with this supplier, we investigate constructive details through physical prototypes of the item.
On what does the manufacturing cost of a product depend?
The cost of manufacturing a product depends on the specified material, the technology and process of manufacturing, the labor required for production, the minimum quantity of the batch to be manufactured and, finally, the pricing policy of the industry responsible for the manufacture of the product.
What is the studio's creative process like?
Really, it’s early days yet! Our studio is only five years old and still in the phase of evolution and development. We seek to refine our creative process with each new project and every new contributor. Currently our design procedure consists of 4 steps: (1) Plan, (2) Immerse & Listen, (3) Create; (4) Model & Prototype.
What is the duration of a project?
It depends on the type of project. Our branding projects take around 1 month, while our product design projects may take between 1 and 5 months, depending on the complexity of the product.
Do you design art and prints for clothes?
Yes. Even though we do not design the actual clothes, nor make the fabrics, we design patterns and prints for the garments/fabric and send these to the client. The client, in turn, can produce a custom fabric or look for a supplier to complete the project.
How much does it cost to design a product with LINDS?
This depends on the complexity of the product and the maturity of the idea. Some product ideas are just in the person's head; others have already been sketched on paper; still others have a 3D prototype in their hands. Some potential clients may already have a supplier available, a product for sale and a business up and running. Get in touch with us, and we'll make a personalized quote for you!
How long does it take to get a quote?
